About Us

The Latina/o Studies Association (LSA) promotes research and teaching on U.S. Latina/os at all levels of education in the United States.  Our mission includes actively encouraging and supporting the involvement of students and community members in these efforts.

LSA officers and members engage the public sphere and advocate on behalf of Latina/o studies and the Latina/o community at large. The organization hosts a biennial conference of scholars whose research focuses on the history, culture, and latest data relative to Latina/o populations.  In the future, we also expect to support efforts to publish research and other materials focused on Latina/os, including, but not limited to, academic journals.
